BLOC+

BLOC lgog textureOpened in 2001, BLOC+ on Bath Street is a main-stay of the Glaswegian music scene. It has garnered a cult following thanks to it’s pioneering DIY ethics, critically acclaimed food and busy events calendar, amongst many other things.

This fiercely independent restaurant/bar and venue is open until 3am every night and sports a famous free entry policy for everything from humble acoustic shows to surprise appearances by some of the world’s biggest bands (see Frightened Rabbit, Clutch, Twin Atlantic et al).

The menu is an affordable and diverse blend of highly inventive global cuisine thanks to it’s Furious Food alter-ego. The musical pallette is equally varied, bringing musicians of all genres from countries as far afield as China, Argentina, Australia and Israel, as well as championing the best talent from Scotland and nearby.

BLOC is above all things a member of it’s local and national community, giving a voice to artists and supporting the efforts and charity causes of the country’s creative population and proving that it IS possible to prosper within a music scene, not just from it.
